Town Of Prescott Valley Raising Water/Wastewater Rates And Stormwater Fees For The First Time Since 2017

Water, Wastewater and Stormwater fees are going up in Prescott Valley. The town council approved the rate increase of those fees Thursday for the first time since 2017. For water and wastewater, this increase sets more stringent rates for higher users and lowers the tier structure for the most common residential meters. Currently, average residential usage in Prescott Valley is 5,000 gallons per month. The increase will raise water rates for usage above 5,000 gallons and again at above 15,000 gallons. Prescott Valley residents will pay a three-dollar per residence to help mitigate flooding in the community, maintain drainage infrastructure and enhance stormwater recharge. The fee will also allow the town to assist in recharge projects to help replenish the town’s aquifer. The cost for the average Prescott Valley household using 5,000 gallons would be $58.43, with the stormwater fee included, but would rise from $89 to $104 for those using 15,000 gallons and above, including the stormwater fee. The fee increase will go into effect in February.
