Three people escaped a house fire Wednesday, but some of their cats are missing. Fire crews from Central Arizona Fire and Medical and Prescott Fire responded to the home in the 600 block of Walnut Drive at around 11:07 a.m. When they arrived they saw the single story house with flames and heavy smoke coming from the inside. The residents and ten cats were inside at the time. All three people got out of the house and two of the cats were rescued and treated. Officials say two other cats perished in the fire and six others are unaccounted for. Crews kept the fire from spreading to nearby homes and the surrounding area. The Arizona Crisis Team and American Red Cross responded to the fire to help the residents. The cause of the fire is unknown.
