Three people were arrested recently after Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies found illegal pills during a traffic stop in Camp Verde. A deputy stopped a 2002 white Cadillac DeVille just after midnight back on April 16th on Highway 260. The deputy smelled an odor from the vehicle so he deployed his K9. A search of the vehicle turned up 16 fentanyl pills inside a zippered wallet in the front passenger area, 22 fentanyl pills inside a zippered pouch in the rear passenger area, along with oxycodone and amphetamine pills. Authorities had been looking for 51-year-old Steven Lee Carns in connection with drug sales in the area. He was booked on drug possession and sales charges. Deputies also booked 24-year-old Mayvi Garcia and 30-year-old Rose Rodriguez on drug charges. All three are from Cottonwood.
