The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has announced they are allocating over six-point-two million-dollars in grant money from the Indian Community Development Block Grant-American Rescue Plan, to three tribal communities in Arizona. The plan also grants nearly 74-million-dollars to 68 tribal communities across the U.S. The announcement emphasizes the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to provide sufficient COVID-19 relief to various tribes. The Navajo Nation will receive nearly three-and-a-half million-dollars that will go towards the construction of 69 septic systems, drain fields, and the repair of water lines. These services will improve overall sanitation services. President Biden is expected to speak more on the allocations at a tribal summit at the White House next Monday and Tuesday.
