The numbers of COVID-19 related cases and deaths continue to rise in Coconino County Friday. Health officials say there are five additional deaths and 27 new cases of the coronavirus. There are now 54 deaths and 635 cases connected to COVID-19 in the county. Negative tests are up 149 to 2,728. The number of positive tests in the Greater Flagstaff Area has risen at least 14 cases from Thursday to 118, with 70 of the cases in an area of East Flagstaff to Wuptaki National Monument and 34 cases in West Flagstaff and Fort Valley. The number of positive cases in non-tribal areas of Page is 77 with 427 cases in tribal communities of the county. The total percentage of positive cases to those who have been tested in the county is 19-percent. There is another testing blitz this Saturday in Flagstaff. There will be only one location as testing will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the County Health and Human Services building on King Street. You don’t need a doctor’s note to get tested at the blitz.
