The Ten X Campground Near The Grand Canyon To Undergo Expansion And Remodeling

A popular campground near the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is getting a makeover. Kaibab National Forest officials say the Ten X Campground, about five miles south of the Grand Canyon, will undergo an expansion and a remodeling in the future. The campground will go from 70 campsites to 300, encompassing about 345 acres total. The expansion will be able to accommodate large RVs while eliminating the current problem of parking along the Ten X roadway, which creates congestion and safety concerns. The new sites would be a mix of RV-friendly, individual tent and small group sites. Future improvements include adding ramada structures with more grills, fire rings and picnic tables, as well as a new amphitheater for campfire talks. Work on the project is expected to begin in the Spring of 2020.
