There’s new information into the search for 30-year-old David Backus. Yavapai County Law Enforcement is looking the man who fled Cottonwood Police last Thursday. He is wanted for a probation violation out of Gila County and is now wanted on charges of felony flight and felony endangerment. Backus is also wanted on four additional warrants out of Yavapai County. One of the warrants is on an aggravated assault charge from a 2018 incident where he injured a Yavapai County Detention Sergeant’s hand while fighting with staff. He has stated he won’t be taken back into custody and is considered to be armed and dangerous. He is a white male, six-foot-one inches tall and weighs 230 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. He also has tattoos on his head which appear to be horns. He could be in Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Cornville or Bridgeport. If you see him, do not approach him and call 911.
