The North Rim of the Grand Canyon will make its seasonal transition to day-use operations for the winter on Sunday, October 16th. At that time the Grand Canyon Lodge and North Rim campground will close and limited services will be available to visitors. The entrance gate on Highway 67, which provides vehicle access to the North Rim will close on November 30th, or after the first major snowstorm if prior to that date. Visitors to the North Rim on, or after, October 16th, should be self-sufficient and bring enough food and water for the day. Services open will be a self-serve gas station and restrooms in the park. After October 31st, water will only be available at the North Rim Backcountry Information Center, which will close November 1st. For more information, log onto the North Rim’s website.
