The Navajo Nation Sees A Spike In COVID-19 Related Deaths And Cases Wednesday

There was a spike involving COVID-19 cases and deaths on the Navajo Nation Wednesday. Health officials report 16 deaths and 147 new cases of the coronavirus. There are now 119 deaths and nearly 34-hundred positive cases of COVID-19 on the reservation. Of the confirmed cases, 889 are in Apache County, 697 are in Navajo County and 335 in Coconino County. The most cases of COVID-19 on the Navajo Nation are in McKinley County, New Mexico with 912 cases. President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer announced the Navajo Nation will go back into another 57-hour curfew this weekend, but will have slightly stricter measures than previous curfews. The order is expected to be announced Thursday.
