For the first time since March, the Navajo Nation saw no new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday. Tribal health officials do say there were four new deaths, making 527 total deaths from the virus since testing began. The total number of cases is just over 99-hundred with over 71-hundred recoveries and over 97-thousand tested. About the no new cases, President Jonathan Nez says it’s “good news, but the reality is that our daily numbers will continue to fluctuate as there is no vaccine available.” He echoed the call to continue to social distance, wear masks and wash your hands. The Navajo Nation remains on a daily curfew from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. and 32-hour curfews on the weekend through September from 9 p.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Monday.
