The Navajo Nation will keep government offices and entities closed until August 16th. President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer signed the new executive order Wednesday. Nez says the number of cases of COVID-19 is slowly decreasing, but the rise in cases in nearby big cities such as Phoenix and Albuquerque led to the decision. There were 45 new cases reported on the Navajo Nation Wednesday with six new deaths. The total number of deaths is 431, with 8,684 total cases. There have been 6,456 who have recovered from COVID-19. So far, the Navajo Nation has tested over 75-thousand people.
