The Navajo Nation Continues To See Progress In The Fight Against COVID-19

The Navajo Nation continues to see success on the COVID-19 front. Tribal health officials said Tuesday there were 19 new cases of the coronavirus with no new deaths. The death toll from the virus remains at 473 with over 93-hundred cases and nearly 69-hundred recoveries. There have been over 86-thousand people tested for the virus since testing began. Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez is recommending people continue wearing masks heading into the winter months. He says, “if we continue to remain diligent about wearing masks in public now, and throughout the upcoming flu season, I believe we will continue to flatten the curve for COVID-19 and we will also lower the number of flu cases here on the Navajo Nation.” There will be another 32-hour weekend lockdown beginning Saturday at 9 p.m. and lasting through Monday at 5 a.m.
