Multiple fires starting by lightning have placed Paulden in “SET.” Prescott National Forest officials say the five-fire Rock Springs Fires are moving rapidly to the east with strong winds today. Officials say the Spring Fire is south of the Rock Butte fire and is moving toward Highway 89. There are no impact to Highway 89 yet. The Spring Fire has burned 500 acres. The Rafael Fire has burned over 1,000 acres and is sending smoke into the Sedona area, as well as Munds Park, Kachina Village and parts of Flagstaff. The other three fires in the complex are the Sand Flat, Archibald and Hornet fires.
