The Great Pinecone Drop Event Back On For New Year’s Eve 2021

The Great Pinecone Drop is back in Downtown Flagstaff on New Year’s Eve after a two-year hiatus. The six-foot-tall, LED-lighted ornament is currently hanging three stories high at the Weatherford Hotel, and the countdown clock is ticking. There will be three lowerings of the Great Pinecone Drop: one at noon for the kids, with special booths set up downtown. Then at night, the first drop will be at 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, and final one at midnight to celebrate the New Year. The Great Pinecone Drop itself is free and open to everyone in the public. The streets of downtown Flagstaff will be closed and blocked off. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to the event.
