The Flagstaff City Council will discuss ranked choice voting, a method of voting in which voters rank candidates in order of preference, at Tuesday afternoon’s work session. On February 8th, Council discussed the possibility of adding ranked choice voting on the list of considered charter amendments for 2023. Now the Council intends to hold a focused discussion regarding ranked choice voting. The council will also identify points and considerations specific to Flagstaff’s potential implementation of it. At this time, ranked choice voting is not supported by Arizona’s election law. The work session starts at 3 p.m. with limited seating in council chambers, or you can watch it online on the city’s website.
