It took more than six hours, but the Flagstaff City Council got through the majority of its agenda Tuesday night at City Hall. Council unanimously passed an ordinance to allow class one and two “e-bicycles” on all paved and unpaved FUTS trails, except on the Buffalo Park Loop and the Arizona Trail. The ordinance must be vetted through the Bicycle Committee, Pedestrian Committee and Transportation Commission before it’s official. Council also voted unanimously to allow the rezone for the McGrath housing project on Butler Avenue. Members approved the budget, 6-1, and the increase to the primary property tax levy, 4-3, with councilmembers Salas, Odegaard and Whelan voting no. Council also voted 5-2 to pass an ordinance to increase the use tax rate to direct money into the pension fund and voted unanimously to prohibit the sale of tobacco products to people 21 years and younger. The meeting wrapped up at around 12:20 this morning.
