The Flagstaff City Council held a special session on Tuesday where they voted to adopt a zoning code amendment for affordable housing. The first part of the amendment would involve incentives for affordable housing, while the second one contained parking adjustments. In addition, the council voted to send a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, requesting that Flagstaff Shelter Services get reimbursed for help they provided to limit the spread of COVID-19 among homeless individuals in Flagstaff. FEMA had previously denied reimbursement. At the work session which followed the special session, the council heard updates from the Sustainability, Open Spaces, and Historic Preservation Commissions on their current projects and future goals.
