The Food and Drug Administration has granted full approval to Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. The FDA made the announcement Monday morning, saying the vaccine is fully approved for those 16 and older. The Pfizer vaccine is still under Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA for kids 12-to-15. Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock says “while millions of people have already safely received COVID-19 vaccines, we recognize that for some, the FDA approval of a vaccine may now instill additional confidence to get vaccinated. Today’s milestone puts us one step closer to altering the course of this pandemic in the U.S.” This also clears the way for more companies to demand their employees get the vaccine, now that it’s fully approved.
