The Coconino and Kaibab national forests are going into full closure at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. The reason for the closure is for public safety and due to the sparseness of firefighting resources. No one will be permitted to enter the forest, unless someone has property on forest land. Work on forest thinning will cease for the time being as well. Arizona Snowbowl has also decided to close summer operations temporarily at the end of the day today. The forests will be closed until further notice.
