If you live in Flagstaff or Coconino County, you will be able to grill at your homes if you have a grill with an on and off switch. Flagstaff city officials made the announcement Thursday night, while the County amended their fire restrictions Friday. “The Fourth of July is a time to celebrate our county and enjoy a nice backyard barbeque with family and friends, but let us do it safely,” said Board of Supervisors chairman Matt Ryan in a statement. He adds, “in coordination with the City of Flagstaff, Coconino County is excited to allow residents to now use all propane grills or electric grills with an on/off switch at private residences,” So if you had grilling plans at your home before, you can do it again. Both the city and county remind residents to be safe and make sure when you are done cooking, make sure your grill, as well as the gas, is turned off. All forests in Northern Arizona are closed to visitors through the weekend due to extreme fire danger.
