The City Of Flagstaff Is Encouraging Residents Who Live In Flood Prone Areas To Immediately Purchase Flood Insurance

The City of Flagstaff is encouraging people who live in the Rio de Flag floodplain and the Schultz Creek Watershed to get flood insurance immediately. Specifically, residents whose homes are in the neighborhoods of Creighton Estates, Forest Hills, Cheshire, Coyote Springs, Anasazi Ridge, Coconino Estates, Ridge Crest, North End, Rock Ridge Estates, Clark Homes, Flagstaff Townsite, Downtown Flagstaff or Southside and whose homes are located within a designated FEMA flood zone. Homeowners insurance policies do not cover flood damage and coverage must be purchased separately. Flood insurance is the only way for residents to be compensated for flood damage on private property. If your insurance agent is not aware of the procedures for selling flood insurance policies, then call 1-877-336-2627 for a referral. The City of Flagstaff is working with its partners, including the Coconino County Flood Control District, to analyze new impacts to flood risk due to the Pipeline Fire.
