The Arizona Daily Sun is shutting down printing operations in Flagstaff. The plan is to move its printing operations to the Arizona Republic’s Phoenix Deer Valley facility and truck the paper to Flagstaff and surrounding areas beginning May 11th. Officials say an aging printing press and other financial factors played into the decision. The large facility on Thompson Street will be put up for sale in the next few weeks. Officials with the paper say after the sale of the building is complete, they will relocate to a new location in Flagstaff. Current Daily Sun staff will continue to live and work for the paper in Flagstaff. The paper has called the Thompson Street building home for 26 years.
