The 3Echo Prescribed Burn Started Wednesday, South Of Flagstaff, Sending Plumes Of Smoke Into The Air

The three-day 3Echo burn began Wednesday on the Coconino National Forest. The burn is five miles south of Flagstaff between Lower Lake Mary and Mountainaire. Just over 46-hundred acres are set to be treated on that burn. Smoke will be seen from Flagstaff. Crews will burn this weekend on the Wild Bill project, 14 miles northwest of Flagstaff and about four-and-a-half miles north of Bellemont. Nearly four-thousand acres will be treated on that project. The Horseshoe Project, that was supposed to be treated Monday and Tuesday will be rescheduled. All fires will reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires and subsequent flooding damage to Flagstaff.
