Ten Northern Arizona Entities To Receive Tourism Grant Money From The State

Governor Doug Ducey and the Arizona Office of Tourism announced Tuesday that 43 businesses and organizations across the state will receive a total of more than $9.4-million in Visit Arizona Initiative Partnership grant funding. The money will support the relaunch or expansion of a wide variety of festivals, arts and culture and community events across Arizona. Entities in Northern Arizona that will receive grant money from the partnership include: Creative Flagstaff, Flagstaff Dark Skies Coalition, Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Grand Canyon Music Festival, Lowell Observatory, Museum of Northern Arizona and Peak Events. Also receiving money are the Prescott Chamber of Commerce, Sedona Arts Center and the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival. Jennifer Grogan, owner of Peak Events, which puts on Flagstaff Blues and Brews says: “two years without this and other major events have been difficult on Flagstaff businesses, so we’re very happy to be able to stage it again in 2022 with support from the VAI grant.” Businesses and organizations were part of the competitive grant process and had to apply to be a part of the grant awards.
