A 14-year-old Prescott Valley boy was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike Wednesday evening. Prescott Valley Police arrived on the scene at Viewpoint Drive near Park View Drive in Prescott Valley at 4:14 p.m. Officers say the boy was riding northbound on Viewpoint Drive before making a sudden turn across traffic into the path of the southbound-traveling vehicle. The driver was not able to stop in time and ended up colliding with the boy, who was not wearing a helmet. Native Air assisted in airlifting the boy to a Phoenix area hospital. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured. The accident is still under investigation, but impairment does not seem to be a factor. The road south of Park View was closed for about two-and-a-half hours while treatment and the initial investigation was underway.
