Areas of Northern Arizona saw strong gusty winds Sunday ahead of the season’s first cold front. Over 14-hundred APS customers in the Fort Valley area lost power for a short time, along with a few hundred in Mormon Lake. Some residents of Doney Park saw shingles fly off of roofs, trees down and property damaged due to wind gusts that were reportedly clocked at over 60 miles an hour in some areas. The Flagstaff Airport saw a peak wind gust at 58-miles-per-hour and Bellemont had a gust of 50 miles-per-hour. It will be windy again today, but not like we saw on Sunday as the cold front moves through.
