A stolen vehicle was recently used in an attempted ATM burglary Sunday morning in Cottonwood. Officers responded to the 800-block of South 12th Street at around 5:30 a.m. for a report of an abandoned vehicle. The truck was found in the reporting person’s driveway running with a chain hanging from the back, appearing if it had been used to tow something prior to being abandoned. The truck had been stolen from an address in Cottonwood earlier that evening. Other similar trucks in the area were found to have been damaged, where someone had attempted to steal them but were unsuccessful. Detectives found the truck was used in an attempt to access the ATM at Wells Fargo Bank in Cottonwood, but was unsuccessful. Detectives are working several leads on this case.
