Two people were injured when a DPS State Trooper collided with a Jeep Cherokee Thursday just after noon in east Flagstaff. DPS officials say the trooper was responding to a call for service in Cameron and had the cruiser’s lights and siren activated on northbound Highway 89. The Jeep turned in front of the trooper at the intersection of Highway 89 and Smokerise Drive and was hit. The driver and trooper were transported to Flagstaff Medical Center with minor injuries. The area was cleared and both lanes were reopened just after 2 p.m. The accident remains under investigation.
