Prescott Fire along with Central Arizona Fire and Medical, will be implementing Stage Two fire restrictions starting next week. Due to very dry conditions and recent wildfires in the county, fire officials decided on putting the restrictions into play starting on June 3rd. Stage Two fire restrictions means no burn permits will be issued, there will be no outdoor use of firearms, no campfires or any fires with wood or charcoal. However, the use of propane, natural gas or other gas flame-producing cooking grills or fire pits may be used. Welding, cutting or grinding is prohibited, unless under special circumstances. There will be no smoking permitted outside of vehicles, residential yards or designated smoking areas. The order is consistent with the Prescott National Forest and covers over 400 square miles, which includes Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Dewey-Humboldt and Paulden. The restrictions are in effect until further notice.
