Stage One fire restrictions will go into place Thursday at 8 a.m. for the Quad Cities area and the Prescott National Forest. Restrictions will include Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, Paulden and areas south of Prescott. The move is a partnership between the Prescott Fire Department the Prescott National Forest and Central Arizona Fire and Medical. Stage One restrictions means no residential burn permits will be issued, use of model rockets is prohibited, use of fireworks is prohibited, except by commercial special events permit. Smoking outside of vehicles, residential yards or outside designated smoking areas will be prohibited and there will be no outdoor use of firearms. Cooking, warming or camp fires are still allowed at single and multi-family residential properties and parks, where approved, but they must be attended to at all times. Officials say Stage Two restrictions could go into play as we head into the summer months.
