Southbound I-17 Closed Sunday Night After A Deadly Accident Involving A Pedestrian

A deadly accident involving a pedestrian closed southbound Interstate-17 for hours Sunday near Rock Springs Road north of Phoenix. DPS says an unresponsive person was found on the shoulder of I-17 at milepost 241 near Rock Springs Road at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Officials say the accident happened when a car hit the person. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no further information about the accident or the person.
