Southbound I-17 Closed For Six Hours Near Sunset Point After A Man Jumped From A Moving Bus Early Tuesday Morning

Southbound Interstate-17 was closed early this morning near Sunset Point after a man jumped from a moving Greyhound Bus. The incident happened at around 6 a.m. DPS says the man managed to open the emergency hatch and one of the windows and jumped out of the moving bus. He landed onto I-17 where he was struck several times by passing vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene. Passengers say the man was acting erratically, talking to himself and yelling, before leaving the bus. Officials say it happened so fast, no one could have stopped him. I-17 southbound reopened at around noon.
