Southbound I-17 Closed Wednesday Morning After A Semi-Truck Accident North Of Cordes Junction

Southbound I-17 was closed just north of Cordes Junction at Milepost 270 for nearly four hours Wednesday due to an accident that has a semi-truck on its side and blocking the highway. DPS says the driver of the semi-truck, that was carrying medical waste, lost control of the truck and jackknifed at around 8 a.m., block both lanes. The driver was uninjured. ADOT detoured traffic around the accident on State Route 169 west to State Route 69 south and then back I-17 at Cordes Junction. Southbound I-17 reopened at around 11:38 a.m. There were no injuries.
