The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is reopening for Memorial Day weekend, which includes day hiking on inner canyon trails. National Park officials say the south entrance to park will be open from Friday through Monday from 4 a.m. until 10 a.m. The entrance will close at 10 a.m. and visitors already inside can remain in the park until sunset. Open for visitors this weekend include: day hiking on inner canyon trails, limited food and beverage services at Market Plaza, Bright Angel Bicycles, El Tovar and near hotels. There will be bicycle and wheelchair rentals at Bright Angel Bicycles as well. East Desert View Drive will be open until Navajo Point, plus the Rim Trail and Greeway Trail will be open outside of the residential area.
