Some Trails Affected By The Museum Fire Have Reopened

The closure area from the Museum Fire has been reduced. Coconino National Forest officials say areas that have reopened, either fully or partially, include Schultz Creek, Fatman’s Loop, Elden Lookout, Little Elden, Pipeline, Sandy Seep, Christmas Tree and Heart. The areas had been closed since July 23rd, a day after the Museum Fire started. Others areas remain closed for the time being, due to helicopter mulching in high-severity burn areas and to protect other impacted resources. The closure now is very similar to the closure implemented for timber reduction in the Flagstaff Watershed Protection Project earlier this year.
