Remains found in 2009 have been identified in connection with a cold case from Prescott. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials have been trying to determine the identity of a male for some time. The remains were found on April 10th, 2009 around 30 yards north of Deering Park near Sosna Drive in the Thumb Butte area of Prescott. Efforts to identify the man’s remains had been unsuccessful in the past. However, the remains have now been identified as Anthony Sanchez, who was reported missing in November of 2007. At that time Sanchez’s family called police with concerns regarding behavioral health issues with Anthony. He fled from his home and wasn’t found. He was 20-years-old at the time.
