Sinagua Middle School is going into remote learning for at least two days, due to an outbreak of COVID-19 at the school, according to the Coconino County Health and Human Services Department. Flagstaff Unified School District officials say Wednesday will be optional for students, which is a half-day regularly for students in the district. However, Thursday and Friday will be under remote learning. District officials say Sinagua will reopen to in-person learning on Tuesday, after the three-day Labor Day weekend. Officials say they are working closely with county health officials to mitigate the spread of the virus at the school. The school will undergo enhanced cleaning during remote learning. Staff and students are reminded that if they are sick, to stay home. There is no word on how many positive cases of the virus have been traced to the school.
