Shots were fired at police officers during a domestic violence situation Thursday morning in Prescott Valley. Police received multiple calls at around 12:32 a.m. regarding domestic violence that was occurring in the Cypress Circle area. When arriving at the scene, deputies found an intoxicated man and his wife in their home with a 19-year-old, two 16-year-olds, and a three-year-old. The 31-year-old Prescott Valley man allegedly told his wife to leave through the front door, while the teens and child were able to leave through a window. The suspect was armed and had fired rounds inside the home and then opened fire at officers outside. An officer returned fire and was able to get the man to surrender. One officer suffered minor injuries and the suspect was transported to a Phoenix hospital. The incident is being investigated by the Department of Public Safety.
