Several dangerous drivers were taken off the road in Yavapai County in December, during a special enforcement period. Sheriff’s officials say they arrested 16 people for DUI, four of them extreme DUI, one super extreme DUI and one aggravated DUI. The aggravated DUI came as the driver had her six-year-old child in the car with her at the time. Officials say 24-year-old Michelle Hernandez from Prescott, pulled into the Walmart parking lot off Gail Gardner Way and parked, then passed out. A short time later, the vehicle left the parking lot. A deputy pulled the car over nearby at around 5:30 p.m. back on December 28th. Hernandez had a blood alcohol level of .268, which is more than three-times the legal limit. Her child was released to a family member, while she was booked on charges related to the incident. The enforcement happened over all weekends in December, with a special focus on traffic over the holidays.
