Sedona Helicopter Companies Agree To A No-Fly Zone Over Sedona

Yavapai County, the City of Sedona and two helicopter companies agreed to a “No-Fly Zone” the encompassing the entire city of Sedona. Under the agreement, several major resorts and neighborhoods outside the city limits are also included where tour helicopters will no longer fly. In the agreement regular tour flights will take place between 8 a.m. and dusk, flight paths and altitudes will be electronically documented and archived, helicopters will not hover over or near sensitive archaeological sites or at any time during tours and operators will be sensitive to the impact of noise on heritage site such as ruins and areas sacred to indigenous peoples and to neighborhoods.
