Sedona City Council Unanimously Approves A Pilot Program Regarding Short Term Rentals

The Sedona City Council unanimously approved a pilot regarding short term rentals. The council decided to go forward with the “Rent Local” program, which would incentivize short-term rental owners that provide long-term affordable leases to local workers. The program would give homeowners of registered short-term rentals, who provide at least a one-year lease to a local worker or a qualified displaced long-term resident, a cash incentive to not only rent local, but also refrain from using the property as a short-term rental for three years. City officials say almost 15-percent of housing in Sedona are short-term rentals.
