The search continues for a missing 15-year-old girl, who was last seen near Williams back on June 18th. Coconino County Sheriff’s officials say Mercedes Saenz left her family’s home in Red Lake, north of Williams and could be in Phoenix. A local resident told deputies she walked up to their house asking for water and a ride into Williams, because she told them her mother was at the Quality Inn. Staff at the hotel says Mercedes came inside and asked them how to get to Phoenix and was provided phone numbers for taxi and shuttle service. Another person later reported seeing the girl hitchhiking in Williams. The citizen gave her a ride to Ash Fork. She was last seen walking toward Highway 89 and Interstate 40 in Ash Fork. She has been known to use multiple names. She is known as Takyra Jamerson of Jane Saenz. Mercedes has contacts in Phoenix and she may have hitchhiked from Ash Fork to the valley. She is five-foot-four inches tall and weighs 110 pounds with brown eyes and bleach blonde hair. She is wearing green camouflage pants, green or tan hoodie, a black backpack and could be holding a teddy bear. IF anyone has seen Mercedes, or know her whereabouts, contact the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 774-4523, or Silent Witness at (928) 774-6111.
