Searchers Find The Body Of A Missing Camp Verde Man Monday Afternoon

A Camp Verde man, who was missing since Thursday, was found dead Monday afternoon. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say the body of 85-year-old David Williams was found about a third of a mile downstream from where he attempted to cross the swollen Sycamore Canyon Creek. Williams went missing Thursday after he left his home to visit a friend, who lived on the other side of the creek and he was going to check on her. The car belonging to David Williams was found unattended near the trailhead of the creek. His phone was last pinged on Thursday with no further contact since. Authorities remind people that if you come across a flooding wash or crossing, to not try and cross it.
