The seventh-seeded Salpointe Catholic Lancers and second-seeded Flagstaff played their 4A quarterfinal game in the cold and snow flurries Wednesday. The game was physical and remained scoreless for the majority of the game. Salpointe scored the winning goal after a throw-in lead to a battle in front of the net. The ball went past the Eagle goalkeeper with about 43-seconds left, as the Lancers upset the Eagles 1-0. The Eagles had allowed just six goals all season and was undefeated at 13-0 coming into the game. They lose just four seniors off this year’s team and will be very competitive against next season.
