Yavapai County Sheriff’s detectives are offering a reward for information leading to an arrest of two suspects involved in a theft, which took place Monday morning in the Prescott Country Club in Dewey. Officials say an elderly male victim returned to his home after shopping in Prescott Valley. As the victim pulled into his garage, a white SUV or Pickup with two Hispanic males inside, pulled in behind him. The two males offered to help the victim carry his groceries into his house. Once inside, the older suspect distracted the victim by leading him to his backyard and talking about doing landscaping and fencing repairs. At the same time, the younger suspect entered the master bedroom and stole a small one foot square black combination lock safe from the closet. Inside the safe was $1,000 in cash as well as three handguns. The first firearm was described as a Taurus .38 caliber pistol, and black in color. The Taurus was new and still inside the box. The second firearm was a black semi-automatic handgun described as a World War Two era French pistol. The third handgun was a black .38 revolver of an unknown make. Investigators believe the suspects may have followed the victim from Prescott Valley or from the Maverick area in the Prescott Country Club. Anyone with information leading to an arrest in this case, is eligible for a $400 reward and should call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 or submit a tip at yavapaisw.com.
