Residents Affected By Post-Wildfire Flooding Encouraged To View Flood Risk Assessment Map

The City of Flagstaff is encouraging residents that live in the northwest area of Flagstaff to check the flood risk assessment map to see how their residence is affected. This includes the neighborhoods of Creighton Estates, Forest Hills, Lynwood, Cheshire, Valley Crest, Coyote Springs, Ridge Crest, Coconino Estates and Rock Ridge Estates. Those who find their residence to be affected based on the flood risk assessment map should place sandbags around their residence, at least six inches higher than the anticipated flood depths. It is also recommended those who live in a flood-prone area purchase flood insurance and sign up for emergency notifications.
