Yavapai County Sheriff David Rhodes is in trouble with the law himself. “The Daily Courier” reports Rhodes was at Lake Powell last Saturday boating with friends. He tried to help a friend park a boat at Wahweap Marina at around 6:25 p.m. and clipped another boat in the process. The paper reports Rhodes was cited by the National Park Service for possible OUI, or boating under the influence, which is a Class B misdemeanor. The charge is for having a blood-alcohol content of .08 or higher. The sheriff said in a statement, “I deeply regret my actions and have learned from this mistake.” He adds, “I am sure you are disappointed and that’s fair, however I am more disappointed in myself.” Rhodes is in his first term as Yavapai County Sheriff.
