Report: Former NAU Offensive Lineman Died Of Fentanyl Intoxication In July

It’s now known how NAU offensive lineman Malik Noshi died back in July. Noshi was found dead at his residence at around noon on Sunday, July 7th in Flagstaff. Authorities say life-saving measures were performed on the 22-year-old, but he was pronounced dead at 12:10 p.m. A friend told police Noshi was fine the night before, but was found not breathing the next day. The Coconino County Medical Examiner’s office released autopsy information Tuesday. They list the cause of death as acute fentanyl intoxication and the manner was accidental. The report also said Noshi had recently used cocaine and had alcohol in his system. Noshi was from Las Vegas, Nevada and was a starter on the offensive line for the Lumberjacks in 24 of his 29 career games at NAU. He was named a Big Sky Conference honorable mention last season.
