Former Coconino County School Superintendent Tommy Lewis resigned back in January after pornographic images were reportedly found on his work-issued computer. The “Associated Press” obtained records stating the images were found on a flash drive that he left in his computer. The “AP” reports none of the images involved children, however one was linked to a woman in New Mexico, which has since been turned over to the Albuquerque Police Department. The 67-year-old Lewis resigned with a two-sentence statement back on January 21st that cited his decision was due to personal reasons. “AP” reports when he resigned, Lewis was under investigation for potential criminal activity, even though he was not charged in connection with the discovery. In an email to the Coconino County Board of Supervisors, Lewis apologized to them and said he was “shameful” in his actions. Cheryl Mango-Paget was the associate superintendent at the time and has since been appointed to replace Lewis as county superintendent of schools.
