A Red Flag Warning is in effect for most of northern and eastern Arizona today. The National Weather Service issued the warning from noon until 6 p.m. areas including Flagstaff, Williams, Winslow, Holbrook, the Grand Canyon and the Navajo Nation. Forecasters say winds are expected to be 20-to-30 miles per hour with gusts up to 55 miles an hour at times. A Red Flag Warning means critical fire weather conditions will exist. If a wildfire starts, it could spread quickly under today’s conditions. If you see smoke in area forests, report it immediately. If you are traveling across Northern Arizona today, especially in a high profile vehicle, slow down and use caution.
